About Me

Welcome!

I am glad you found your way to my blog.  I hope you are blessed!  Please feel free to comment on each post or contact me via email or my Facebook page (which is currently under construction).

I would like to take this time to introduce myself more thoroughly and give you a deeper glimpse into my life.

Most of my writing is derived from personal experiences.  I truly believe God gives us challenges, heartbreaks, and victories to reveal His greater plan for our life.  I fell in love with writing many years ago, but never really knew where to use it.  My mom always said, "Tanya, you've been given a gift, but it's wasting away."  Then it hit me; why not use this gift to glorify the Lord? It was seriously a "DUH" moment.

Hence, the birth of this blog.

I was born in a small eastern European country called Moldova.  At the time of my birth, it was still a providence of the USSR.  I lived in a children's orphanage until I was 4 1/2.  I was then brought here to America (New Jersey in particular) to begin a new life with my adoptive parents.

Through their love and support, I assimilated relatively quickly into the American culture.  As they say, the rest is history.  I graduated high school in 2006 and received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and English, minor in Voice, and a Teacher Reading Cert from Rowan University in 2010.

On my free time, which is minimal at best, I enjoy reading (a lot!), going for long walks, traveling, and spending time with my amazing family and friends.  Along with working at Barnes and Noble, which totally fulfills my love for books, I participate in a community choir, my church choir, and other singing gigs.  As you can probably tell, my other great love (aside from books and writing, is singing).  As you may or may not have noticed, I have linked another blog that I started long before this one-that is all about my love for music.  Check it out, and let me know what you think.  It too is a work in progress, so please be patient.

I will be honest.  I have not devoted nearly enough time to this project, but with God's help, I will be posting several times a week. This is a labor of love that I want to share with whomever is willing to join me!  Help me make this a blog that brings comfort, truth, and inspiration to its readers!

I do not mince words.  I believe honesty is truly the best policy-even if it hurts.  Tough love is honest love.  No sugar coating here! That includes you as my readers.  I want your honest opinions, thoughts, and/or suggestions.

Well!  That's all for now.  Happy reading and posting!  See you on the other side!

With many thanks and a grateful heart,

Tanya K. Harmer
